What is the 47 Day Certificate Validity Rule?
Right now, public SSL / TLS certificates max out at 398 days. But in April 2025, Apple’s proposal to reduce this gradually down to 47 days was officially adopted by the CA/B Forum, with all four major browser vendors—Apple, Google, Mozilla, and Microsoft—voting in favor.
This also includes a reduction in the Domain Control Validation (DCV) reuse period, which will drop to just 10 days by March 2029. That means organizations will need to validate domains more frequently tightening the timeline across the entire certificate lifecycle.
Phased Timeline of Validity Reductions
- March 15, 2026: Maximum validity drops to 200 days.
- March 15, 2027: Maximum validity drops to 100 days,
- March 15, 2029: Maximum validity drops to 47 days.
Why the Change?
- Reduced Risk: Shorter lifespans limit the damage window if a certificate or private key is compromised.
- Enhanced Security: Encourages crypto-agility, making systems more adaptable to future threats, including post-quantum cryptography (PQC).
- Operational Necessity: Manual management becomes unsustainable with frequent renewals, pushing organizations toward automated CLM.
Impact on Organization
- Automation is Key: Manual processes cannot keep pace; automation for issuing, deploying, and renewing certificates becomes a prerequisite.
- Visibility & Discovery: Organizations must first find and inventory all their existing certificates.
- Modernized CLM: Requires crypto-agile solutions that can adapt to rapid changes.

Philippines Value Added Tax (VAT) | Frequently asked questions
Please note: be aware that this article is for informational purposes only and should not be considered as tax advice. For any specific questions, we recommend consulting with your own tax and legal advisors.
As part of the Philippine government’s new tax regulations for non-resident digital service providers (DSP), dotPH is now required to collect Value-Added Tax (VAT) on all our services. This change impacts all digital services offered, including domain registrations, hosting, SSL certificates, and more.
What is VAT and Why is It Being Collected?
VAT is a consumption tax levied on the sale of goods and services in the Philippines. The new law mandates that all non-resident DSPs, such as dotPH, collect VAT from their customers for services rendered to Filipino residents or businesses.
When Will This Take Effect?
Starting June 1, 2025, dotPH will apply a 12% VAT to all services billed to Filipino customers. This includes all products and services we provide.
Who Will Be Affected by This Change?
This VAT will apply to all Filipino customers purchasing digital services from dotPH, whether they are individuals or businesses. However, businesses that are registered with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) may self-account for VAT through the reverse charge mechanism, provided they submit their valid Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and registration documents.
How Will VAT Be Applied?
Filipino Individual Customers:
VAT will be added to the total amount billed for any services purchased.
Filipino Business Customers:
If you are a VAT-registered business, you must submit your TIN and other relevant registration documents to ensure you can self-account for VAT through the reverse charge mechanism. This means you will not be charged VAT by dotPH but will account for the tax yourself when filing your VAT returns.
What Can You Do to Prepare?
If you are a business, please make sure your TIN and documents are updated with us to ensure we can process your self-accounting for VAT properly. You can upload your TIN and documents here: https://www.dot.ph/manage/accounts/
More Information
If you have any questions or need further clarification, feel free to contact our customer support team or refer to the official Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) guidelines regarding VAT on digital services.

Google Workspace Price Update: What You Need to Know
At dotPH, we always strive to provide the best services at the most competitive prices. As a trusted provider of Google Workspace, we have worked hard to keep our pricing stable for as long as possible, even in the face of industry-wide cost increases.
However, starting immediately, we will be adjusting our Google Workspace pricing to align with Google’s latest pricing structure.
Why Are Prices Increasing?
This price adjustment comes as a result of Google’s own price increase for Google Workspace, which was originally announced in early 2024. Google cited the integration of advanced AI tools and other enhancements as the reason for these changes. (Source: Google Workspace Updates)
Despite this increase, dotPH chose to absorb the additional costs for the past year rather than pass them on to our customers immediately. Our goal was to give businesses more time to adapt while continuing to provide the same great services at the previous pricing.
What This Means for You
Updated Pricing:
as of posting this article, the cost of Google Workspace subscriptions purchased through dotPH will reflect Google’s new pricing model.
AI-Driven Enhancements:
The updated pricing aligns with new AI-powered features that improve productivity, security, and collaboration within Google Workspace.
Uninterrupted Service:
This change ensures that dotPH can continue to provide reliable Google Workspace services with the same high level of support you’ve come to expect.
We Appreciate Your Support
We understand that price changes are never easy, but this update is necessary to continue delivering the best Google Workspace experience. We truly appreciate your continued trust in dotPH, and we remain committed to supporting your business with the best tools and services.
If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to contact our support team at [email protected].
Thank you for being a valued dotPH customer!

Getting a domain name for your business is a small investment with significant results in branding, marketing, and online visibility. There are several reasons why you may want to consider buying a .ph domain:
Building local presence through localization

Branding and identity
A .ph domain helps strengthen your branding and identity, especially if your business or organization is based in the Philippines. It can also help you stand out from competitors who use more generic domains like .com or .net.
